Tina Denmark is a pretty, charming and diabolical eight-year-old girl who "was born to entertain." With the encouragement of slick and overbearing potential agent Sylvia St. Croix, Tina will do anything to play the lead in her school play, and we mean anything. The question is, where does such remarkable talent and unstoppable ambition come from? The answer may shock you when you see this award-winning Stage Mother of all musicals.

This Cult Classic is a Pulitzer Prize Finalist and the Definitive Fan Favorite out of all 44 of Sam Shepard’s plays, 10 of which won Obie Awards (the most given to any writer or director). Get ready for crickets, crime,
coyotes, drunkenness, and dark comedy. A tale of two adult brothers, sons of a desert-dwelling alcoholic
father prone to violence, still trying to find their way in the world - and with each other. Set in 1980 in a
residential suburb 40 miles east of Los Angeles, the younger brother Austin is a screenwriter housesitting for
his mother while she is in Alaska. Austin is finalizing a deal with the producer, Saul Kimmer, when Lee the
drifter, his long-lost drunken thief of a brother arrives unannounced to raise cash by stealing televisions from
his mother’s neighborhood; but instead sabotages Austin’s plans and even convinces Saul to make a movie
about his own story; one that Lee says is true, about the true west. This show is every actor’s dream and Austin’s nightmare.
